Beginner Introduction to Mixed Media Abstract Painting

In this virtual lesson Lauren will guide you to create a mixed media abstract painting using formal art elements and principles of design.

Materials:

• 90lbs paper or canvas

• Acrylic Paint

• Vine Charcoal

• Paint Brushes two sizes Example 2,12 I used Filbert

• Water

• Palette

• Painters tape (hint: place tape on your pant leg a few times to remove some of the adhesive before applying to your paper, this will allow your paper to not tear upon removal.

• Reference Materials

• Color wheel

• A picture with colors/lines/etc you are inspired by

• Chalk Pastel

• Gesso

• Blowdryer

• Fluid acrylics

• Matte medium
